Aloe Vera (also aloe, barbados or curacao aloe) is a plant of the Xanthorrhoeaceae family, native to North and East Africa, but also introduced in the Peruvian Andes, the Arabian Peninsula, Canary Islands, central Chile, Puerto Rico and Mexico. It is a perennial plant with succulent leaves that can reach 20 feet long and 2 feet wide.
